The DJ To Airline Part Fraud Pipeline

Important Alert!: Ricardo at Refuge in April1!!! With Desyn?? Not much more needs to be said. Let’s see if the sound stands up to the big claims they make. We will need to coordinate on a pre.
Another reminder: Tristan & Isolde is in less than two weeks. If you want to join, just get the cheapest seats possible! And, Parterre Blog has all of the opinion that you need on the 2026-2027 opera season.
Additionally, the Times published an article about the upcoming Innocence, “A Composer’s Final Masterpiece Heads to the Met Opera Without Her.” Here is the original Times review. “This is undoubtedly the work of a mature master, in such full command of her resources that she can focus simply on telling a story and illuminating characters.”
Mr. Moopie reissued DNTEL’s 2011 Enya Mixes tape last week. Incredible work by ACS.
Friday: Call Super at Nowadays for livwutang’s residency night. Call Super has a new website here. You can catch me there in my custom ARPo GeAR (tm).
Saturday: Text Tom about Saturday!
I’m sure most of you have read the new Sam Kriss Harper’s cover story already. It’s very good: “It did not seem like a good idea to me that some of the richest people in the world were no longer rewarding people for having any particular skills, but simply for having agency, when agency essentially meant whatever it was that was afflicting Roy Lee. […] Roy didn’t really seem to have anything in his life except his own sense of agency. […] All he wanted, he’d said, was to hang out with his friends. I believed him. He wanted not to be alone, the way he’d been alone for a year after having his offer of admission rescinded by Harvard. For people to pay attention to him. To exist for other people. But instead of making friends the normal way, he’d walked up to strangers and asked whether they wanted to start a company with him, and then he built the most despised startup in San Francisco.”
Via Matt: for any DJ that needs to upgrade their rig, this seems like an obvious no-brainer.
A rush of headlines about an “Ex-DJ” who is going to jail for selling fake aircraft parts. All of the headlines just say “DJ” “Ex-techno DJ” “Former DJ” and they never link his SoundCloud or RA profile?? Well, here is his RA profile, here is his SoundCloud.
NPR reports that, “around 2015, the economists write, a couple of policy changes ‘created a perfect storm for coca's resurgence.’” Why are we in the middle of a “record-breaking” cocaine boom?
I’m sorry for linking to AnimeNewsNetwork: there is a new Evangelion series, written by Yoko Taro with music by Keiichi Okabe (both from NieR). Guys who live in graphic printed sweatpants celebrate2.
The Bode Tokyo store is really handsome.
Nice interview with designer and illustrator Dick Ellescas here for Sighs and Whispers, you can see his best work for Angel Records on Discogs here.
Jakob Bro is back at Village Vanguard at the end of March.
The new Stones Taro 12” is really very good. This one seems obviously like new Sound Stream. Bon Iver’s new NTS show is good.
Mr. Death Is Not The End has started to publish some books? Very cool. Nice description: “Flyers for house parties remind that shebeens remained an important feature of social life in black communities and the many sound clash and cup clash events […] as friends go head-to-head with their dub plates.”
Would you like to own a hotel in the Loire valley? In the middle of the usual real estate browsing, I came across this listing in Beaumont-en-Veron. My favorite day of the year last year involved biking through the quiet and flat roads of this village. Anyway, I look at this beautiful house for sale at a reasonable enough price and realize that it’s a hotel? Crazy price. It’s not hard to get from there to Paris.

Two things: one, a moratorium on Ricardo start time / Polymarket jokes; two, Refuge clearly can’t handle the fifty entry options.
If they weren’t spending money on their itasha setup, they’d be buying this ceramic Elden Ring x Labyrinth claw slash… cigarette holder?
